Music Monday is a weekly feature we love to read by Jessica @ Lovin' Los Libros and since I have music playing at all times of the day, no matter what is going on (even to read) I talked Shel into spreading our music love with you!
Court's pick:
So, while I have a very..uh, eclectic musical library...I have a long standing obsession with rock music. Of all kinds really. But this dates back to when I was an N'Sync-sessed pre-teen when my older brother introduced me to things like Pearl Jam, Korn, Staind and System of a Down. And this week I choose the self-titled Avenged Sevenfold album, because I love every song on it...and my love for M. Shadows grows daily. While their album Nightmare is a very close second, this is my favorite album to date. Let Dear God, Almost Easy, and Afterlife ease you into it then hit Critical Acclaim, Brompton Cocktail, and A Little Piece of Heaven...if you aren't already well acquainted! ;)
Shelley's Pick:
Most people, including me, were probably introduced to Alex Clare through a commercial for Internet Explorer 9. It was so appealing to my ears that I quit fighting the commercialism of it and looked him up online. Once I started listening to his other tracks I discovered one of my favorites: "Up All Night" a song recorded in New Orleans and my apparent theme song for the week...the summer... aw hell, for a while now. "Up All Night" is one of my favorite songs to run to and rock out to on my way to work--definitely check it out. The other songs on this album show his range--some are softer some are edgier--all are great. His website has some great videos and his upcoming tour dates and lots of other great stuff just click here.
I love Alex Clare! And I like Avenged Sevenfold too! My friend played some of their stuff in the car a couple years ago (I think it was their earlier stuff?) and I really loved it. I wish she remembered which album we were listening to! I'll put this on play while I'm blog hopping!
