Excerpt from No Turning Back
“I know.  I don’t know what I’m going to do without y’all for a month!”  Georgia exclaims.

“I could care less about exams.  I’m just ready for Study Day!”  Caroline squeals.  Why the hell is she so excited about Study Day?  You study all damn day!  “It’s only the biggest party day of the year at Southern.  Y’all thought Homecoming was epic.  Y’all aint seen nothing yet!”

“Explain.” Tori states.

“Well, undoubtedly on Wednesday at noon the campus goes to quiet hours to study for exams.  No class, practice, or anything.  Pretty much people put off studying until Thursday afternoon, and spend Wednesday partying like it’s 1999 or something!”

We all look at each other, and know that it’s legit because somehow Caroline always is in the know.

Anna speaks up, “So, if Hank’s isn’t open, where does everyone go?”

Caroline gets up and walks over to her wall and points to the number eighty-eight sticker on the wall.  “That’s easy, Whiskey River!”

“What’s that got to do with racing?”  Anna asks.  Georgia, Caroline, Tori and I look at each other like she has got to be kidding.

“Anna, hunny, bless your heart,” I speak compassionately.  “Dale Jr. owns Whiskey River.”

“Awwwwwww.  I don’t know anything about racing.”

“We know,” we all say in unison.

REVIEW: HOW HE REALLY FEELS BY LISA SUZANNE

Julianne Becker is desperately in love with her boss, Nick Matthews. She has daydreamed about him since the day she first met him a year earlier, but she is firmly stuck in the friend-zone until New Year’s Eve, when the game completely changes and she finds out how Nick really feels about her. They embark on a sexy affair that’s everything Julianne ever dreamed of... except she can’t tell anyone about it. What will happen if anyone finds out about their secret relationship? And how will her lifelong best friend, Travis Miller, react when Julianne begins a relationship with someone who isn’t him?

How He Really Feels is a novel that explores relationships and love between coworkers and friends. It contains some adult situations and is intended for mature readers.

Where to find How He Really Feels:

Our Review:
So Julianne has the hugest crush EVER on her hot boss, Nick...and I do not blame her. He hits all of the important points--smart, sexy, looks hot in a suit, and a genuinely nice guy (who is not too nice). She spends an entire year trying to figure out ways to be in his presence without being too obvious..but everyone on her team at work is sooo aware of her crush...except him. Or IS he aware?? Hmmm. By the year's end, they've shared some looks, moments, lunches, and laughs...and so Julianne decides that this new year WILL be the year she is brave and makes something happen.

I always find it fun to read stories about people who are looking for their special someone and the antics that some of these ladies get up to to get their guy. Since it's something I have absolutely no experience with it whatsoever I find it hilarious, but I'm sure it is not quite so funny when you're in those shoes! Nick starts out as quite the swoon worthy guy, but of course reality sets in and some weird behaviors starts!

One fortunate New Year's night midnight ritual and they are quickly submersed in a very secret relationship. If you are anything like me, you are probably very suspicious of a secret relationship. What's he hiding from her? Is there another woman? Is this really about a work contractual issue--or something else? See--I'm so NOT trusting and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Well...the other shoe did drop, just not the shoe I expected...and definitely not the way I expected. Their whirlwind romance was sweet and perfect (outside of the secrecy, of course,) and just when I was flying to the happily ever after ending, the rollercoaster ride began and there were several times I thought I was going to have to fling myself off of it because GAH! the ride got quite bumpy for a while. Between Nick's work contract, Travis, and even Julianne my emotions ran the gamut of anger, sadness, anxious, and happy...and then hit repeat several times before you get to the end and you have an accurate depiction my emotional state.

Between the two of us I am actually shocked, between the texts that were flying and the feelings that I was experiencing, that we didn't actually fling a device of some sort across the room. O.M.G. Bad choice after bad choice, on both of their parts, though mostly Julianne-- and I was ready to strangle someone! Okay, mostly Julianne! I really enjoyed a lot of them getting to know each other, but it took a lot for me to feel any sort of redeeming qualities in Julianne after the things she does to Travis, but after everything that goes down I suppose she suffered a great deal too...still gave me palpitations..gah.

Despite the bumps along the way, I truly enjoyed the ride and would definitely recommend you hop on it too! It's a super quick read and there is absolutely no cliffhanger. Yes! It was very enjoyable, but I definitely cannot wait to read the next book What He Really Feels to see where her friends go from here!

Where to find Because You're Mine:

An Excerpt from Because You're Mine:
Without another moment’s hesitation, I marched myself outside. The screen door closed with a loud thwack behind me as I closed the distance between the house and my jeep. When he twisted his head at sound of the slamming door, my determined boots skidded to an abrupt halt, causing loose gravel to crunch heavily beneath my feet.
Paralyzing blue eyes held me in place, stunning me with their raw beauty. I had no idea what to compare them to, but they were unlike any color I’d ever seen before, and far more beautiful than any sky or ocean.
Whoa.
It was sticky hot outside today. The humidity in the air had beads of sweat tickling my upper lip, but there was no denying the chill bumps that pebbled across my skin as those striking blue eyes roamed my body. Standing to face me properly, his tan arms flexed impressively as he wiped his filthy hands with a greasy rag. The sight of a man doing that should absolutely not be a turn on.
But God help me…it was.
Well-worn jeans rested low on his lean hips, forcing my lips to part on a sigh. I was drinking in as much of him as I could.
So why was I still so damn thirsty?
His dirty ball cap was pulled down low on his brow, but not low enough to conceal those gorgeous blues. They were big and bright and they shined back at me like a beacon in a storm. I licked my parched lips in appreciation at the beautiful man standing before me. His perfect lips turned up at the corners and I knew it right then.
            I was in deep shit.
That smile could definitely be defined as a panty dropper. I’d never had an urge such as this. I felt so drawn to this stranger, and for reasons I could not even begin to comprehend, I wanted to reach out and touch him. My hands flexed at my sides. I wanted to do a hell of a lot more than just touch him. Thankfully my mind finally sent warning signals to the rest of my body. I was standing there, gawking at him, like a lust crazed fool. “Who the hell are you?”

Author Bio:

I've worked in property management for the last decade. Married to my soul mate and gentle giant for 12 years, the man has never been, nor will he ever be, the romantic type. However, we still have a very passionate marriage and we love each other fiercely. We have two beautiful children who drive us absolutely insane, but we love them dearly and we are certain our life would suck without them.

I love music. I have a broad range of taste so I listen to all genres, but I love country the most.

Most of my friends and family will tell you that I'm a bit loud. I take that back...I'm very LOUD. I tend to always say what others are thinking and I never sugarcoat anything.

Writing has given me the release I've been craving all of these years. An outlet to express myself the way I want to, the way I need to. It's like therapy for me and my life was forever changed the moment I typed that first line.

BLOG TOUR: YEARNING DEVOTION BY RACHAEL ORMAN

Title: Yearning Devotion
Author: Rachael Orman

Synopsis:
Gwen has lived a hard life. She has endured many situations that would have broken a weaker person. But she has found love in her life and it keeps her from completely losing it when things get rough. That is, until one day a man enters her life that changes everything.

Will this man help Gwen become a stronger woman or will he completely destroy her?

**This is an erotic book with F/F, F/F/M, M/F situations and not intended for people under 18**

An Excerpt from Yearning Devotion

“Mick, I’ve never felt attracted to a man... EVER. He actually makes me want to have hot sweaty sex with him. I want to run my hands all over his body and kiss him for days.” Gwen groaned as she jumped off the counter. She stomped her foot in frustration.
“One step at a time. He seems willing to go at whatever pace you set. Just go with the flow.” McKayla winked at her. She pushed between Gwen’s knees and ran a hand over her hair. “I know you like me, but there is nothing wrong with liking men. Most women do, if he can make you happy and share you with me, I’d be willing to try and welcome him into our life. But, that’s for you and him to figure out. So, come on, it’s Wednesday, hump day, that means you should watch me dry hump men at work. Hey, I’ll even let you do body shots off me!” McKayla laughed wiggling her hips around in the air. “Plus, if we make out, I’ll make crazy tips and take you out for an early breakfast.”
“Alright, fine, but you’re buying my drinks.” Gwen slid off the counter. McKayla pressed her back against the counter with her hips. She cupped both sides of Gwen’s face. Her bright blue eyes met Gwen’s honey brown ones for a moment before she pulled Gwen forward to plant a kiss on her lips.

Where to find Simple Perfection:

I'm fairly convinced, now, that Abbi Glines can do no wrong. I've yet to read her Sea Breeze series (I KNOW, I KNOW..it's on my list!! SHEESH!) but I bet I'd love it as much as I've loved everything else I've read of hers. Simple Perfection is no different...LOVED it.

Yeah, I agree. I had read all of her books but ONE until last month when TWO more came out! Thank God that woman writes like a machine! I panic a little bit when I don't have something written by her that I know is going to be written well, and rip my heart out but still make me love the characters by the end...

Speaking of well written...Simple Perfection begins right where Twisted Perfection left off. I was really worried that the bitch Angelina was going to try worm her way back in with Woods and I wasn't wrong..what a bitch. Thank god Woods has a brain in his head and shot her down..every.single.time. Just because Angelina doesn't get to dig her claws in too deep, though, doesn't mean that trouble isn't brewing. There is definitely trouble in the Rosemary Beach paradise.

I was glad how he handled that whole sitch too, and we got to experience the scene in Forever Too Far where we got another taste of Bad-Ass Blaire. I'm still not sure how people like that function in normal society, but I guess when you have a ton of money, you can act however you damn well please...even if it is insane. It is easy to see though how the new dynamic of Woods smothering Della is going to cause a lot of problems. Woods is still hotter than hell in this book and his dirty talk there toward the end was fanfreakingtastic! *whoo* still

Ahhh...the dirty mouth of Woods. Sigh. Love it. Unfortunately that dirty mouth doesn't prevent problems...darn it! The trouble begins with this internal dialogue that Della can't seem to rid herself of. She's convinced that she isn't good enough for Woods and even though she's madly in love with him, she also seems to have one foot out of the door. Things get better and Woods begins to take over his new status at the country club while giving Della space to breath and take on a new job. She excels in it and manages to push her doubts to the side until a very unfortunate event sends her searching for herself, trying to gather her strength, all the while aching with love for Woods. As she takes this journey she's lucky enough to have Tripp and Braden to advise her, comfort her, and kick her in the butt when needed.

I seriously love Tripp. Woods may not like Della and his friendship, but she really needed not only someone like him, but him specifically because he understood exactly how it felt to not truly belong to the highfalutin country club world in Rosemary. He doesn't push or pry, or at least not in obvious ways but earns her trust and inadvertently helps her on her way to finding herself. Braden was not nearly as present in this book as the first one, but she is still a huge part of Della's life. She is the best friend and sister from another mister that anyone could want!

This story delves deeper into Della's horrid upbringing and sheds light on the source of her nightmares. Weaved into the story we also get a taste of Rush and Blaire, Jace and Bethy, Tripp, and the Grant/Nan/Harlow CF. It also drops some bombs along the way. Be prepared.

Oh. Emm. Gee. I was seriously shocked. I don't think Abbi (Yeah, I use her name in normal conversation like we're BFF's or something...Weird I know..sorry, not sorry) has ever done anything quite so shocking to me before (I mean, it's like she stabbed my heart). I am still in shock and cannot believe the turn of events in the secondary characters at the end of this book and it is for reals a game changer. Just still..cannot believe this! Okay, sorry I'm so melodramatic, but if you don't think I will be staying up however long it takes when Tripp's book comes out you will be mistaken!

What we are left with is a very satisfactory conclusion to Woods and Della's story and a hunger for what the rest of the Rosemary Beach crew will do. I cannot wait to see what comes next! I will also be impatiently waiting for the next book to come out!!!

P.S. I also saw a probably 14 year old girl in an elevator today with Existence in her hand in paperback (which I haven't seen out and about before, and I got really excited) and got really excited and might've freaked her and her mom out a bit! Oh well...can't help that I love Abbi Glines books and get really excited when I see other people with them!

Courtney is swooning over: Woods from Simple Perfection by Abbi Glines
"No, I didn't. You asked if I was expecting someone. I said yes. I was expecting you. You asked who I touched. I said only one person. You. Always you," he said, finally lifting his head to look at me.

Shelley is also swooning over Woods from Simple Perfection:
"...I will not allow anyone to hurt Della. I will protect her from both of you. She is my perfection. She holds my heart in her hands. When she hurts it brings me to my knees. There is no way to explain to you the way I feel about her. Just understand that I will not allow anyone to hurt her again. I won't forgive that. I lose a piece of my soul when I see her in pain."

And we both were gushing over some of his best lines ever...*ahem*....towards the end of the book, but decided to not out ourselves for the dirty girls we really are....oh wait...we already do that....oops!

Book Description:
I know what you did last summer.

Aubree Walker, the perfect girl most likely to succeed, is sure there’s only one person who knows what she did.

Booker Outlaw, one of the three Outlaw brothers—all identical, all gorgeous, all from the wrong side of the tracks, and all pure bad boys. He was always the unpredictable one, the one who would be brash enough to make it big self-publishing horror novels on the internet. He promised never to tell, but everyone knows you can never trust an Outlaw.

Then a year later, in the middle of the night, she receives a phone call at Tulane. Her aunt, who took her in after her mother’s death, is in a coma under suspicious circumstances. Now she has to face that one person who knows all about what she did that summer—sexy Booker.

Returning to Hope Parish to be with her aunt, stirs up all those ugly memories. When Aubree starts getting threats, she can’t help but wonder if what she did last summer was tied to her aunt’s “accident.” Afraid, she turns to the only person who knows the truth and Booker doesn’t hesitate to offer his broad shoulder for her to lean on. But Booker has a secret of his own that could crush their fledgling relationship.

As the hot, sultry summer days move on, she finds that even a perfectly smart girl can lose her heart to a perfectly bad boy. What is she going to do when someone starts asking questions Aubree doesn’t want to answer? She’s knee deep into a terribly dangerous, wholly life changing, who-can-she-really-depend-on perfect mess.

Our Review:
I am always interested in books that feature my home state so when this one came to our attention, I was eager to see what it was all about. There are so many things this book got right--our humid, hot, lush landscape, our tendency to use pet names for each other, and especially the small town gossip that pervades the small towns I've lived in.

While I'm not all that far north of Louisiana, I very much enjoy the culture when I hear about it. From friends to the family I have there, it has always been a special place. I thought it was nice that the small town feel was a cool departure from the normal setting that is usually New Orleans.

From the beginning Aubree is intent on avoiding her home town and for 80% of the text alludes to a horrible event that keeps her away. When she gets a call about her aunt (and mother figure) has been in a serious accident, she drops everything and runs home. The ride home is flush with memories and worries and gives us a good sense of her desire to quickly take care of business and get back to college. Booker Outlaw, her high school crush, would like nothing more than for Aubree to stay longer.Upon arrival at her aunt's house, Aubree not only has a worrying incident happen before she can even get out of the car, but Booker is there...and so is their chemistry.

Oh, oh, oh Booker. I really liked him a lot. He was a pretty great guy who struggles to overcome the reputation that his no good con artist father left his family with. He really has a hard time believing that he deserves anything and his mutual feelings for Aubree are known to everyone it seems but her! I needed her to wise up to what was right in front of her, quick fast & in a hurry!

For the next few days Aubree and Booker become reacquainted with each other, try mightily to deny their feelings, and try to figure out who is sending her harassing texts. We also get to meet Aubree's 2 high school besties and Booker's brothers---I'm sensing books 2 and 3 here.

Dude, you forgot to mention that these boys are TRIPLETS! Booker, Braxton, and Boone (Hello, Lost anyone?!?) So yes, they are triplets who all have their special talents whether it be Book's writing, Brax's cooking and Boone's landscaping...they're pretty much the ultimate package...and way, way better than their small town reputation would suggest. My only flaw would be that I wish they were a little bit older. Not that 19 year olds can't accomplish these things and it is probably being a bit cynical of me...I don't know...just the things they have figured out I know some of my high school friends still don't have figured out so maybe that's the reason!

Once Aubree and Booker begin to sort through their attraction to each other, they must confront some of the secrets that could end them before they even begin. The last 15-20 % move quickly and with resolution...no cliffhanger here!

Yep, the book had a definite slow burn feel to it, with sizzle and interruptions! Killer. But they are very, very sweet and I enjoyed it very much!

A sweet Louisiana read.

Courtney: 4 Stars

I step out of a scalding hot shower, humidity filling the bathroom, the air weighing so heavy it's hard to breathe.  I can relate.  I wrap a towel around my waist and feel my way to the sink.  Who am I?  This question continues to plague me.  My eyes crawl up to the mirror begging for an answer, but a buildup of moisture prevents me from seeing my reflection.  I place my fists on either side of it, rub the steam off with my palm, and stare.  As I contemplate this question, the only thing I'm left with are blank eyes looking back at me.  I know this shouldn't be, but it is.  I'm a devoted son, responsible brother, trusted friend, excellent student, and a good fuck.  I’ve been told I'm talented.  And I suppose things come easy to me.  My life seems perfect.
There shouldn't be anything missing right?  Wrong.
There is.
I only wish I knew what it was.

 ABOUT THE AUTHOR -
BethAuthorPicture
I am a wife, a mom, an author, and a lover of all things chocolate, well, anything sweet really. While stuffing chocolate in my face, I enjoy reading young adult and new adult novels furiously, and spending time with my husband and two adorable children who keep me on my peppermint pink painted toes. Those same children who inspire me to tell silly stories that cause hysterical giggles to tumble from their bellies. I love to laugh and love to have a good cry, especially after reading a novel that stretches my soul, one that makes me feel, and lingers in the corner of my heart. I’m a hopeless romantic and a happily ever after fanatic, and I love to write about LOVE. I began writing when I was in middle school, penning anything from short stories, to poetry, and then later moved on to write children’s books. I have now endeavored into New Adult and Contemporary Romance novels and am loving every minute of it. My first novel, Love Love, was released in May, 2013.
