Whore. Slut. Typhoid Mary.
I've been called all these at Central College. One drunken night, one act of irresponsible behavior, and my reputation was ruined. Guys labeled me as easy and girls shied away. To cope, I stayed away from Central social life and away from Central men, so why is it that my new biology lab partner is so irresistible to me?
He's everything I shouldn't want. A former Marine involved in illegal fighting with a quick trigger temper and an easy smile for all the women. His fists aren't the danger to me, though, it's his charm. He's sliding his way into my heart and I'm afraid that he's going to be the one to break me.
Impulsive. Unthinking. Hot tempered.
I allow instinct to rule my behavior. If it feels good, do it, has been my motto because if I spend too much time thinking, I'll begin to remember exactly where I came from. At Central College, I've got fighting and I've got women and I thought I was satisfied until I met her.
She's everything I didn't realize I wanted and the more time I spend with her, the more I want her. But she's been hurt too much in the past and I don't want to be the one to break her. I know I should walk away, but I just can't.

Our Review
After reading Undeclared I honestly didn't think that a) I'd
Bo is damn hot--a former Marine, a fighter, and sexyfine. He's also smart, funny, and a gentleman. Sure, he's got some serious issues stemming from a completely douche of a dad. And, yeah, he was once a manwhore...but once AM gets under his skin the manwhore never makes an appearance. The douchebag dad issues, however, are cause for concern. They weigh him down more than a backpack full of bricks. Fortunately, he has AM to take his mind off those worries and refocus him on all things AM.
A tortured soul he is for sure, and I loved it. The writing of his point of view was fantastic. And he is really smart. I loved his internal dialogue every time somebody implied that just because he looked like a dumb jock didn't mean he was one. I probably shouldn't say that he made me swoon again, but he really did. I LOVE this book. Epic excitement going on over here people, because it is the best thing ever #1 when a sequel comes out and it is fantastic and #2 that I am so tee-totally excited that I randomly found this series. It is a gem, and I can't wait to see what comes next. Okay. Moving on.
AM made an unfortunate choice in the guy she lost her virginity to and it haunts her. She has created a life for herself that shields her from the hurtful taunting and while this is self-preservation at its finest, it definitely limits her college fun/experience/access to 'normal' college life. Partnering up with Mr. Hotstuff Bo in Biology was not part of her plan for self-preservation so she hides her attraction to him by being very prickly and sharp tongued around him. Little does she know that her witty comebacks and her willingness to call him on his shit intrigues Bo into wanting to know her more.
AnnMarie is my kind of MC. She is strong, but not completely unflappable. I think I like her more than Grace from Unspoken simply because she's more of an everyday girl that I can relate to. She doesn't put her life on hold because something bad happened to her, but she stays the course albeit adjusting a little bit...and finds her way. She finds something awesome with Bo, and I loved their communication and friendship probably more than any sexy times that was in this book..because that's just how I do. They were friends first, and it meant a lot to both of them to make their relationship work. She also taught her haters a thing or two and I can always appreciate it when our girls figure it out and stand up for themselves...with Bo and the rest of the amazing Woodlands' boys at her back of course.
As AM and Bo work on their projects and get to know each other, their chemistry becomes undeniably H-O-T. Both of them deny the satisfaction of capitulating to their sexual desires for a good long time. Bo discovers the rumors about her and wants to protect her and treat her with care but AM struggles with trusting him. As she gets to know him better and sees what a genuinely good guy he is, she allows him into the inner sanctum and sees that time and time again that he makes her feel safe and loved. And then together they tackle some of the ugliness that has been swirling around her on campus and GAH! I just love them together.
I loved their chemistry, their witty banter, and their story. I truly hope that Jen is writing Gray's story next. Please tell me that his is next!!!!??!!! I hope so too! It sure seems that way....crossing fingers & toes.
I say this every other review, but I truly LOVE a series with an amazingly awesome group of friends. Bo, Noah, Mal, Finn, Adam, and now Gray are their own version of a Hot Bunch and I can't wait to see them all get their girls! Love them. Love, Love, Love them.
Unspoken is a DEFINITE must read! It is! I don't want to leave out how amazingly good Jen's writing is too. I really feel like this book is even more well written than the last one, and it was pretty damn good...so Jen, hats off to you. Fantastic job! <3 <3 <3
