Being Me:
I arch into him, drinking in his passion, instantly, willingly consumed by all that he is and could be to me. . . .
Sara McMillan is still searching for Rebecca, the mysterious woman whose dark, erotic journal entries both enthralled and frightened her. Tormented by a strong desire to indulge the demands of her new boss while also drawn deeper into her passionate bond with the troubled artist, Chris Merit, Sara must face a past as deeply haunting as Rebecca’s written words. In one man’s arms, Sara will find the safe haven to reveal her most intimate secrets and explore her darkest fantasies. But is safety just an illusion, when the truth about Rebecca has yet to be discovered?
OUR REVIEW:
Where was I? Oh yeah..fuh-reaking out. The ending. GEEEEZUS. I guess, though, before you get to the end, you have to read the rest. So here's what I'll tell you (without being spoilerific):
- During the first part of this book I wanted Sara to make up her dang mind...she seemed so on the fence about things and I just wanted her to make a decision, be brave, and go for it. This secret she has was teased out for a looooong time. This is definitely not a feeling I am unfamiliar with. She is so dead set on not being "owned" or told what to do, and I hoped that she would be able to find a balance with her independence and the most alpha of alpha men on the planet.
- Chris was pretty much Chris (read: alpha awesome and sweet, when he wasn't being "protective") the first part but then he killed me with his refusal to share. GAH. I really love Chris. He is definitely all alpha male, and I think this is a testament to Lisa (like we've read before with Liam in the Infinite Possibilities series) and how she can write a character that we root for hard core, but yet still know very little about...that is...until she wants us to.
- Therefore, they BOTH drove me batty at various points of this novel. Can't have a good book not drive us batty it seems!
- I had questions or suspected more storylines out of lots of characters from book one and this book does not disappoint. All of the characters from book one come back and a few new ones are added. There's a TON of story here and some questions are answered, suspicions are confirmed...a few new questions arise.. Gah. Nothing to say her but OH MY GAH!
- And lastly, I just have to say that the way LRJ (how Court and I refer to Lisa Renee Jones in our texts) had Sara deal with Mark was refreshing. She keeps him on his toes is all I can say!
So...I feel like if I don't get to book 3 soon, bad things will happen. Once again the ending left me wanting more, more, MORE. Can't wait to see how it all goes down in book 3! Next week we will review the novellas in this series and then finally a review of BOOK 3. Please stay tuned.
I too cannot WAIT to read more of this series! I just...wow! I really love it...there is so much more than a possible BDSM romance, and that may've been my expectation at first...but there is way more to it than that. And just think...all I can do is visualize how this is going to be portrayed on A TV SERIES!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!! STARZ NEEDS TO HURRY UP!!!
