So this is the story of Brian and Myrna. She's a Human Sexuality professor...and he's a very sexual human (sorry, I couldn't help myself). Hahaha! Good one! Brian is the lead guitarist for Sinners..and he's a deliciously sweet sinner. He's got such a sweet and tender heart..and for a rare reading moment, Myrna is the one who wants 'no strings attached'. It's not her fault, really--she had a massively horrible marriage experience and she's not willing to ever go back to that ever again. This is unfortunate because Brian falls for her hard and fast. I felt so bad for him and wanted to soften her up a bit at times..but Olivia Cunning had a plan..a great plan so just go with it.
It is so funny to me that Brian is the way he is, but the scenes where the band gives him shit for being such a fast fall in love guy are hilarious. This band is my absolute favorite because I have fallen in love with each and every guy for a variety of reasons and ways. It may just be a thing that each one looks like the members of Avenged Sevenfold (including the Rev!) so I see those guys, love those guys, hell I'm going to see them in concert for the second time next week...so as you can see, I have a good time reading about them. Brian is a fantasy version of Synyster Gates...so buy this book...and indulge in a wicked rock fantasy.
This novel is pure fantasy. Sexy rock star. Sexy "older" woman. Lots and lots and lots and LOTS of sex--and not just missionary style sex. If you read this novel don't even try to make it fit in your version of the real world because this is completely escapist entertainment; just sit back and enjoy the ride. It so is, but it is so fun. I think this first installment is the most escapist in that it truly is a LOT of sex. I can't wait for Shelley to read Rock Hard (my personal favorite) as the characters start evolving more and more!
Great start to the series...the band is great and I can't wait to see who gets the next novel! Sedric Lionhart ... (Or M. Shadows in my fantasy!) and his not so successful attempt to be the dominant alpha male he likes to be.
Shelley: 4 1/2 stars
Courtney: 5 Stars
About the Author
Combining her love for romantic fiction and rock ‘n roll, Olivia Cunning writes erotic romance centered around rock musicians. Raised on hard rock music from the cradle, she attended her first Styx concert at age six and fell instantly in love with live music. She's been known to travel over a thousand miles just to see a favorite band in concert. As a teen, she discovered her second love, romantic fiction -- first, voraciously reading steamy romance novels and then penning her own. Growing up as the daughter of a career soldier, she's lived all over the country and overseas. She recently moved to Galveston, Texas.
