Today we're having the release day launch of Lisa Renee Jones No In Between, book 4 in her Inside Out series. Read below for the book info and Lisa's amazing giveaway!!! :)
The fourth in the Inside Out erotic romance series by New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones, this steamy novel resolves Chris and Sarah's relationship and leads into Mark's story. "Chris and I have faced our demons and bared our souls to one another in Paris. Now that we are back home in San Francisco, I want to believe that nothing can tear us apart. Not Ava’s accusations against me to the police, or Chris's fear that he will destroy me as he feels he did Amber. And not Mark, who was once too intimately a part of our lives, and who I can see crumbling inside out. He believes he is invincible, just as I want to believe Chris and I are invincible. We have to be invincible. We need each other too much for any other ending."
OUR REVIEW:
This novel picks back up with the mystery of what, exactly, happened with Rebecca. While Chris and Sara try hard to keep their names and reputations protected, they're also working hard to protect those they trust and expose the truth behind everything. The action with the investigation, and the high stakes, rich as hell players in this crazy game's reputations are threatened when their alternative lifestyles make the news.
No In Between has the same sexiness, the same hotness factor, that all of the books in this series have. Sara and Chris just seem to spark whenever they are anywhere near each other. That they are in a more committed relationship and are working hard on being open, honest, and trusting with each other doesn't diminish their red hot sex, at all. Nope. It makes it all that much more real for me. With this series, sex is obviously a huge part of their lives. As it has always been extremely passionate, with fast moving relationships, I liked being able to see them finally getting down to the nitty gritty and having it out. They have a lot of trust issues, and working through them is very important to the story. I loved seeing it. I thought this novel was interesting because even though Sara and Chris' relationship is an important aspect of the plot, the real focus seems to be on the murder of Rebecca (and all of the people involved with that). I liked that rather than try to create unnecessary drama between Sara and Chris, LRJ gave us a lot of things to think about when it came to Rebecca. We get a lot of clues, suspects, and some answers..I'm guessing we'll get everything we need to know in the next full length book..but the epilogue. OHMYGOODNESSGRACIOUS. YES! Exactly. I liked in this one that there is very real consequences for these people if the wrong chess piece is moved, or they put their trust in the wrong person. Trust is a huge theme, and obviously doesn't come easy for Chris, Sara or Mark. And holy batman, Mark Compton...still as big of a presence as ever, though his slow unravel is even more pronounced. I cannot wait to see where things go for him in the future novellas.
I'm not sure what I thought was going to happen in this novel...but it wasn't this and that's not a bad thing. It was interesting to see all of the mix of characters collide and mingle together. I'm eager to see what happens next because there are STILL so many questions to be answered. That is very true. I think that is something that has to be remembered, because this is a very long series. I am enjoying it immensely, but remember that these characters are all very complicated, and the writing is captivating in a way that keeps us engaged...but doesn't really reveal all that much very fast. We have to earn, just as Sara did with learning about Rebecca, every single detail we finally get. Whew. I still can't wait for this to come to our TV!
