Shel: I'm a suffering from a HUGE, GINORMOUS book hangover right now. I think this may be worse than the last Stage Dive book hangover (or do I say this every time?). Damn you Kylie Scott! I kept trying to make more pages appear after the epilogue and there were none. Now I'm sitting here plotting all of the ways to beg you to write more...I DEFINITELY think Vaughn needs to join the crew and have a book...and freakin' Martha..I need to get to the bottom of all of her cuntiness. But, I'm getting way ahead of myself. First you guys need to know why I enjoyed this novel so much:
Court: I KNOW! OMG. OMG. We have just LOVED this series ever since we accidentally ran across LICK on Netgalley (seems like yesterday, to be honest) and this series finale DID NOT DISAPPOINT! SO much love, and angst, and truthful feelings that I would expect two people NOT in a relationship to feel in this situation...so many feels for the entire group!
Shel: The prologue grabbed my attention at midnight and I VERY RELUCTANTLY put it down because unfortunately sleep is sometimes a requirement in my life. Fast forward 6 hours later and I'm up, glued to any surface that is flat and barely registering anything around me...because Ben and Lizzy were so absorbing. When my Kindle needed charging at the 60% mark I almost had a violent temper tantrum..until I remembered I could read on my phone. So I did. (Desperate times call for desperate measures). I read on my phone until I killed THAT battery (at 91%) and finished the last 9 % on my fully charged Kindle. COURT: Girl...you know I started this way before I should've, and blew through it. Stopped to savor a bit...(and not have Shel kicking my ass) and then OMG there I was again at 2 am with a finished book. (also keep in mind that Shel rarely reads on her phone, so this is kind of a big deal!)
Shel: ..where was I? Oh yeah..
Shel: As with all of the Stage Dive novels, there a fantastic mix of sexiness, plot, humor, and characters you become completely enchanted by. I loved Lizzy. She was so honest and fragile and strong and funny and goddddd...really what I'd consider a perfect reflection of what many women would feel in her shoes. She wanted to be strong and she wanted Ben..but she wanted him to want her and she didn't want to chase him and yet she couldn't help be drawn to him. It was simple and complicated and I really FELT all the things. Even when I was laughing with her, I felt that undercurrent of fear/sadness/desire and I so desperately wanted her to have her HEA. I loved her willingness to allow Ben to be who he needed to be and her ability to stand up for herself. I loved her willingness to listen and not run in fear. I loved her loyalty and her fierce protection and her honesty--even when it was hard to be honest. Court: I was so worried that she wouldn't get it...because while we love everything working out in our books...sometimes it doesn't...and the journey to the end...because I cannot tell that to you... was so tortuous on our characters. Ben is...well, Ben. and all of the characters have to weight in their twenty-five cents...of course (especially Mal) and like families do...there is fighting and disagreements, and truly real emotions being dealt with her. I liked the rockstar elements that we can't get enough of in this one, and all of the Jimmy airtime we got..because Hello...he is my favorite...
Shel: Ben was someone I had to warm up to, honestly. I wanted to like him but I wanted him to be more than he was ready to be, early on. As the novel continued, he infuriated me and made me laugh and then finally, FINALLY, I fell for that man...until I wanted to punch him again. Sheesh. The thing about Ben is that he's somewhat of a mystery to me still. I knew him but I didn't and I think because of that, I didn't trust him. (hahaha, it's like he's real, isn't it?). I understood him better by the last of the novel but I still feel like I have lingering questions--questions I hope to still be answered. Why? Court: I completely agree, because he does things that we don't expect or want...and I think we'd need the entire book from his POV to truly understand his motives for most of his actions. He at the same time is a simple guy, and wants what he wants without being tied down. Can't blame him for that...but I really liked him from the minute I found out he had beard. :P
Shel: I WANT MORE BOOKS IN THIS SERIES. PLEASE. Court: OMG me too. OR anything. We will read anything this woman writes. Kylie Scott's writing is stellar, and her characters are people that we would want to know or (be) and I felt all of the love and hurt and heartache that she wanted us to feel...AND I cannot recommend this series highly enough, because there is also my favorite: laughter and pain. A heady combination.
Shel: In addition to Lizzy and Ben's story, we got a nice look at all of the other couples too..I love it when that happens and I suppose if this truly is the end of the series, I'm happy to know that all of my characters (haha..'my' characters) are in good places. This was a fantastic fourth book and I am selfishly hoping to have a few more--it's all your fault for writing such fun books, Kylie. Court: Yep. She might've dropped some lines that give us hope we'll see these people again, but like I said...if we don't...well...we'll be patiently (pretending to be patient) waiting on what she comes out with next!
Excerpt
“Where have you been?” My sister rushed forward, catching me up in a tight hug. “I’ve been trying to call you all day. We checked everywhere and couldn’t find you.”
“Sorry. I just needed some alone time.” I squeezed her back, unable to stop from smiling. The thought of Anne turning her back on me had scared me more than I liked to admit.
“Well, I get you might want that.” She stepped back. “But you could have told someone.”
“You can’t just disappear like that.” And Ben kept right on frowning. “Shit, Liz, you’re pregnant.”
“Don’t upset her,” snapped Anne.
Ben ignored her. “I don’t know what the hell’s going on in your head. But you need to let me know where you are.”
My eyebrows went up and my mouth opened, ready to rip him a new one.
“She doesn’t answer to you. She’ll let you know if and when she decides to let you know,” said Mal, laying down the law to his bandmate before turning my way. “You will text your sister next time you decide to go wandering for a day, understood?”
My mouth, it still hung open.
“Christ, man.” Over and over, Ben’s hands rolled into tight fists before releasing again. “Can you cut the shit and get off my back for a fucking minute?”
“Don’t swear at him.” My usually sensible and staid sister poked a finger dead center in Ben’s broad chest. “You’re the one that caused this mess, thank you very much. She might still be a little young and naive, but you’re definitely old enough to know better.”
“That’s right.” Standing about as tall as a skyscraper, despite only coming up to Ben’s nose, Mal stared him down. Or up. Whatever. “This is a family matter. You can leave, thanks.”

Blurb
Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins' ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the irresistibly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben's the only man she's ever met who can make her feel completely safe, cherished, and out of control with desire at the same time? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn't looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.
Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She's his best friend's little sister now, and no matter how hot the chemistry is between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he's not going to go there. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he's always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible...but will it lead to a connection of the heart?

Your review is perfect, ladies! You encapsulated everything I was thinking and wanted to say! I was slow to fall in love with Ben at first, too (and I'm a total sucker for beards!) but I have to admit... David is my favorite!! And I'm with you on the Vaughn and Martha book train haha
