OUR REVIEW:
Shel: Refrain was hotter than hot. Seriously, y'all. I thought Kennedy Ryan set my kindle on FIRE with the heat generated from Kai and Rhys in previous books but in this book.... *fans self* they were HOT. I just felt like I needed to say that from the outset so it wouldn't get lost at the end of the review and while there is so much more to Kai and Rhys than their off the charts chemistry, it was something that I remember thinking 'whoa..this was unexpected' and yet so much appreciated, haha.
Court: It is. I loved it a lot, and really love how much character growth they had in addition to their stellar chemistry. They had so much going on...that after I finished, I had a dream about being a young'n again and meeting some pretty rocker and going on tour. I blame you, Kennedy! LOL! (I also have this incredible desire to be a roadie or an assistant (like Bristol) and these books just help fulfill those fantasies.
Shel: Speaking of unexpected...this was an unexpected surprise read. I thought we *might* see these two again for a holiday novella or a newsletter bonus. I had no idea that we'd get a third full novel out of Rhys and Kai's story and it was a happy day in reading land when Kennedy Ryan contacted us to let us know it was coming our way! Court: I was really excited. I have loved all of Kennedy's characters, and with this group I feel like we're really getting into a groove with this world. I really enjoyed the first two books, and y'all this one is not to be missed! Even though it is maybe a little longer than a novella, I was still hankering for more pages when I was done!
Shel: Now, down to the business of the novel. When we enter the beginning of the novel we see that the obstacles Kai and Rhys were dealing with now were more of the professional kind and it was nice to see them in THAT place in their relationship--to get to see that 'behind the scenes of the power couple' type look. So that's how it started and I was all, okay..nice progress for these two and then---OBSTACLE!!! And then an unexpected surprise..and then horror. I know, I know. VAGUE MUCH SHELLEY?! Well, yes. Yes, I am. Let's just say that Kennedy Ryan didn't write a third novel that rehashes the old stuff--instead she gave us a whole new roller coaster ride to enjoy so you'll want to go ahead and buckle up and hold on tight.
Court: I was super stressed out, but the pages were turning and Kennedy Ryan's plot was thick and it was hot and steamy, and full of surprises and answered some questions and opened up some new questions for where this series will go with some companions. I like our main duo, but I also really liked seeing more Bristol and Grip and company! And yes, I'm also being vague because a spoiler for this one would just be really disappointing!
Shel: Another thing I enjoyed was seeing the growth of Kai and Rhys in how they worked together to deal with every dip and curve thrown at them--they were a team. They didn't keep secrets, hold grudges, or do anything hurtful...they've grown up so much and become the power couple you'd want to model your marriage on. They weren't perfect--both still stubborn in their own ways --but they just knew how to handle things so much better. And now I can say that their story really felt finished--even more than book two. (I really only say that because I know it's not. HAHA. I know we'll see peeks of them when read the next book in the series--hopefully that's Bristol and Grip, right?!!)
I also loved seeing Bristol and Grip and I cannot wait to see how these two clash and find their way to each other in the next book!
Court: CHARACTER GROWTH! Even if sometimes yes, Rhys had a lot that he had to work on! I liked that he worked on it and really worked hard to be who Kai needed him to be. I am so excited for more. This one was a great pleasure in my week, and I dedicated ALL of my time and attention to it so YOU SHOULD TOO! Because I asked so nicely, right?! Hahaha!

ABOUT THE BOOK People dream of a love that runs deep. So deep it feels like it's always been with you, just waiting for the person who'll own your heart and soul forever. So few ever find it, but for Rhyson Gray and Kai Pearson, happily ever after was only the beginning... One of the biggest rock stars in the world and one of the brightest rising stars make a life together. Sometimes it's glamour-filled days and blissed out nights, but it's mostly staying true in the too-bright glare of the spotlight. It's long stretches where the road is lonely and the work is hard. It's living in a love that's the safest place you know even while danger lurks at your door. Book 3 of The Soul series is an emotionally-charged epic conclusion that had to be told and should not be missed for fans of this
series and this couple!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I just can't write about myself in third person for one more bio! I'm a wife, a mom, a writer, an advocate for families living with autism. That's me in a nutshell. Crack the nut, and you'll find a Southern girl gone Southern California who loves pizza and Diet Coke, and wishes she got to watch a lot more television. You can usually catch me up too late, on social media too much, or FINALLY putting a dent in my ever-growing TBR. I love to hear from readers at kennedyryanwrites@gmail.com.
