OUR REVIEW:
Shel: Nicola Rendell, I have no fucking clue how you do it. How the hell did you make me love you even more than I already did? I freaking LOVED Professed and I hoped --but wasn't sure if --you'd have me as enthralled with Confessed. Well fuckmerunning I think I liked it as much...maybe even more? It's like Sophie's Choice--how do you choose? YOU DON'T and here's why: Court: I have to say that I completely agree! I really liked Professed, but from the get go I was even more enthralled with this one. I loved too that even though these two girls are best friends, this was no way a retelling of the first book. It was an intense and wild ride start to finish!
Shel: They're totally different. Court: Word. This could not be said any differently. Totally and completely different. But still Nicola's brand of story telling that we know already that we will like. It is insane how creatively different they are, and I am so glad! Because, honestly you never know in a second book in a series how it will go and this one went beautifully.
Shel: Confessed is light and funny and sexy and just so fun (Well, shit. Now that I think about it Professed had many of those qualities too!). I couldn't get enough of Lucy and Vince and all of their intensity. And what's not to love about Vince and the way he gets alll into Lucy? And don't you just love how he just notices all of these small things about her? The details, Nicola Rendell, you're so freakishly good at the details. I love how he can simultaneously make fun of and admire her all in one breath--which is all you, Rendell, so mad props to you for how effortlessly you add all of those details in there. Oh, and let's not overlook how Vince respects her and desires her and likes her and how emotional he gets. Fuck it. I like all of it--all those things that make Vince, Vince. All of Vince. I adored this guy. The way he was crafted into the character he is was comic, sexy genius. Court: I love that Vince is seriously hard core criminal, but soft on the inside. It's one of those bad boy stories that we just can't get enough of, but I'm not really suer how I would fare with it in real life...but thankfully with this book I don't have to. I love how they just give into their attraction and go for it. I love how Lucy is so independent and absolutely herself, but so selfless at the same time. She might come off in some ways as air head rich girl, but that is not her at all! Not one to be pitied, she genuinely doesn't give a crap about other's past as long as they extend her the same courtesy. I wish I knew more people like her. Or better yet, I wish I was more like her.
Shel: And don't even get me started on Lucy and how much heart she has and how funny and lighthearted and 100 million percent she invests into this adventure they go on. She's exactly the opposite of what anyone would expect and her desire to have this new start, this new adventure? and to be able to start it with sexy Vince? Gahhh, what a perfect book fantasy...which, by the way, this totally is. It's completely fantastical and unfathomable and amazingly fictitious and I loved every amusing second of it. Court: I did too. I absolutely devoured this book, and I think that you'll really enjoy it if you go for it too! So you should...like now...it's even linked for you below so what is your excuse!
Shel: Nicola Rendell you're totally on my shit list until I get my next book from you because you've completely ruined me for sexy romantic comedies. FML. I was either laughing, smiling, or squirming with every turn of the page. Court: Right! I loved her characters, her plotting, her pace...there was just so much to love about Confessed! and it's the first book this year I think that I totally could start right over again this instant! AND that tease for what she is writing next isn't vague at all! What is happening!!!!
Shel: You guys, buy this book! And Professed. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
