I jumped immediately into ALL IN because I was bleeding out all the feels from FULL TILT and had to know how Kacey would make it through all of this... I had to find out how she'd cope.
Man, Emma Scott held absolutely nothing back in the first chapters. She broke my heart again and again and again and just when I thought I couldn't take it, she relented a little and the bravery of Kacey and the steadiness of Teddy allowed me to breathe. Unfortunately for Kacey and Teddy, Emma Scott wasn't as kind to them--she put those two through some turmoil, especially Teddy. As Kacey grew stronger and brave (damn was she brave) Teddy seemed to be treading water in his grief. He was so wonderful for everyone else but himself--so steadfast and loyal and giving, except to himself. Meanwhile, Kacey's eventual refusal to let things slide, to be honest regardless of how scary it was to tell or hear the truth, to take some risks made me love her even more than I did in FULL TILT--Emma Scott gave her some serious character growth in this novel and I loved it.
These two characters, Teddy and Kacey, took the meandering path from grieving to happiness in a way that felt authentic--it didn't happen instantly and easily--it was messy and emotion filled and perfect for them. These characters healed themselves and each other and their bravery and honesty was inspiring.
I loved spending my weekend with these characters and I'm honestly sad that my time with them is over.

About Emma Scott:
Emma Scott is a writer, marathon runner, and caffeine addict, who lives and writes in the California Bay Area. She has two smart, feisty little girls, a super-supportive husband, and is a demonstrated fan of the Oxford comma. She is also an unabashed Star Wars geek and comic book enthusiast who fell into romance novels when a writing contest prompt turned a 1000-word romantic story into a full-blown novel. She also writes epic fantasy that suffers an epic word count.
She hopes you enjoy her work, encourages readers to leave feedback, and thinks it's amusing to write about herself in the third person. And if she has a driving force the fuels her work, it's that love always wins.
