OUR REVIEW:
As with all of Staci Hart's novels, I devoured Piece of Work. I found myself speeding through the chapters to see what that a-hole Court would do next and how Rin would react--and I should note here that Rin's reactions were ahhhmazing. Actually, Rin is amazing. I loved watching her confidence grow (I am such a sucker for a good makeover and Piece of Work has one of my favorite ones I've read) and I really appreciated how Staci Hart had Rin share her discomfort at some of the things she noticed as her appearance changed. Rin's struggle to reconcile all the pieces and parts of herself made her so real but her ability to embrace her new confidence and not hide from it was so empowering.

Court, on the other hand, made me constantly shake my head. He was so smart when it came to art and beauty and for seeing beyond the surface with Rin and yet so clueless when it came to himself. Thankfully, Staci Hart created Rin and her clever, smart mouth and her incredibly strong backbone and forgiving heart. Rin rocked. Court...didn't--but he did earn a place in my good graces as the novel progressed.

My absolute favorite thing that Staci Hart does is create such strong female relationships. Rin and her besties were the kinds of friends we all want--fun and protective and supportive and willing to challenge you when you need your butt kicked. I loved these girls and my hope is that we'll see all of them all find their HEAs.

Piece of Work is out at the perfect time--it'll make a fantastic beach read.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
