REVIEW: A Kiss for a Kiss by Helena Hunting

OUR REVIEW:

It's been a while since I finished book 3 of this series, but within a page I was immediately back into the world of this hockey team and their significant others and boy, have I missed them!

We all knew that Jake and Hanna were being sneaky so it was fun to read from their perspective how it all happened and what, exactly was happening. And while all of that was fun to read, I really loved that very early on this novel really focused on the aftermath of one unprotected night. I was glad that we didn't have chapters and chapters of build up to the big reveal of Hanna's pregnancy and instead we got to read how they adjusted to their new lives. I also appreciated that both Jake and Hanna presented some flawed perspectives, were sometimes dickish or impatient, but quickly handled things like the adults they were. I also really loved seeing all of the other characters come out to play-getting to revisit all of the couples in multiple scenes was so satisfying.

Reading this novel a year after it was released now has me eager to pick up with the kids of these characters because they've been so much fun to read.

I’m Jake Masterson, single dad, and the General Manager of Seattle’s NHL team. I walked away from a career as a player so I could raise my daughter. For the last twenty-plus years, Queenie has been my main priority, but now she’s getting married.

And there’s a small complication.

A beautiful, sexy complication named Hanna.

She’s my son-in-law’s older sister. Or at least that’s how they were raised. The truth is a little more scandalous than that.

I’ve been drawn to her from the moment I laid eyes on her. And I spent months trying to keep a lid on that attraction.

Until we finally give in.

It starts with one searing kiss, but quickly ends with us between the sheets—and in the shower, and the hot tub, you get the picture—and turns into months of sneaking around.

Here’s the problem: we live on opposite ends of the country. It can’t be anything but casual. And as I’ve already said…it’s complicated.

But when Hanna finds out she’s pregnant…suddenly things get real serious.
